Zox Socks Retail App:
Uniting Branding & Accessibility
Summary
Zox is a sock brand that partners with artists to create unique, high-quality designs. I led the conceptual design of a brand kit and accessible shopping app, filling a market gap for visually inclusive shopping that supports individuals with color blindness and visual impairments.
My Role
Design an accessible retail shopping app from research to launch, including brand kit, product designs, user experience, and user interface.
Sock Designs
I led the creative vision for two inclusive sock collections—a vibrant animal print line with bold contrasts and a high-contrast black-and-white line. Together, 11 unique designs use accessibility to drive both design and style, supporting individuals with visual impairments.
Accessible Font & Color Testing
I ensured accessibility in brand colors and typography through testing and simulation. An accessibility type calculator set minimum font sizes, while color blindness simulations refined the color palette, resulting in inclusive design standards that balance readability and creativity.
Site Maps & User Journies
To guide the app’s design, I created three user journeys for diverse personas and visual impairments. In-depth research on predicted behaviors drove personalized sitemaps and wireframes, ensuring a user-centric experience tailored to accessibility needs.
