Nogales Buffalo Soldiers:
A Logo Rooted in History
Summary
The Nogales Buffalo Soldier Project commissioned a logo redesign and merchandise line to honor the Buffalo Soldiers of Camp Little in Arizona, supporting a museum exhibition that preserves their history and educates the public about their legacy and contributions.
My Role
Redesign the original logo for the Nogales Buffalo Soldier Project and design a merchandise line.
Logo Design
The redesigned logo applies gestalt principles, using bold shapes to form a buffalo face that conveys strength and bravery. Crossed rifles emphasize historical significance, while a blue-and-gold palette honors the soldiers’ uniforms, pride, and legacy.
Merch Design
I directed a merchandise line for the exhibition, transforming the Buffalo Soldier logo with bold, wearable designs and a fun, modern use of the blue-and-gold color palette.
